Script נָעֳמִי (Hebrew)

From the Hebrew name נָעֳמִי (Na’omi) meaning “pleasantness”. In the Old Testament this is the name of Ruth’s mother-in-law, i.e., wife of Elimelech and mother of Malon and Chilion, who settled in Moab. After the death of her husband and children, she returned to Bethlehem with her daughter-in-law, Ruth, and wanted to be called Mara (meaning “bitter, sad”) (Ru 1). Ruth married Boaz, a relative of Naomi’s husband (Ru 2:1-2,6,20-22; 3:1,18; 4:3,5,9,14-17).
