Caiaphas
Gender Masculine
Scripts Καϊάφας (Ancient Greek)
Uncertain meaning, probably of Aramaic origin. In the New Testament Caiaphas is the name (Hebrew: יוסף בַּר קַיָּפָא, Yosef Bar Kayafa, Aramaic: ק׳פא Kayafa) was the high priest belonging to the dynasty of Sadducees and head of the Sanhedrin from the year 18 to 36. Gospel of Luke: Lk 3, 2
Acts of the Apostles: Acts 4, 6
